Fun Bilby Fact:  Despite its rabbit-like appearance, the Greater Bilby is not related to rabbits at all! In fact, it belongs to a unique group of marsupials known as bandicoots. Bilbies are excellent burrowers and can create extensive underground tunnels to avoid the heat of the day in Australia's arid regions. Classified as vulnerable, conservation efforts are underway to ensure the Greater Bilby doesn't face the same fate as its cousin, the extinct Lesser Bilby (last seen in 1931).
